Massacred Hope

After decades of rain, the seed germinated once again,
Forcing itself against the rigid walls of mud,
Taking in every drop of moisture essential for its survival,
Fighting all the forces that are trying to suppress it down,
Holding close every bit of support,
Gathering all its strength,
And accomplishing a herculean task of winning the impossible.

It soon grew into a smiling sapling,
Glowing with the crown of success,
And inspiring the surroundings.

Enthralling her tiny world with her charm,
She reached her adolescence.
Her tender stalks lush green,
Her tiny buds about to bloom.

Before they could blossom into flowers
And spread their fragrance,
Something shook her serene world.

Unprepared and unexpected,
Got trampled to death in a disaster called DEVELOPMENT.
